New School?

Hi guys!

I have a few pictures of my dog, Síofra to show you:

She's really crazy... she loves the beach and she loves carrots (no, she's not a rabbit)

So you may have noticed the title, and wondered why there are loads of pictures of Síofra when the topic is meant to be about school. Well, I wanted to start of with something more positive and then move onto the more negative topic.

I moved to this island in October and I really like it. Of course I miss the city, but it's hard to not like such natural beauty here.  I miss all my old friends, but things change and I have grown away from some of them. I have to let go and move on. The only one I contact is leaving at the end of the year!

I moved back two years of school, which meant me going back to primary, just because the systems are different. And it's a different language. There was 3,300 students in my old school, and now there are 8. eight. I mean, 8! Seriously, in the whole entire school. The person closest to my age is three years younger than me! I have already learnt everything we are learning, and I don't feel challenged and I don't have to try. I thought you were meant to be challenged at school, but it doesn't feel like that to me!

So let's get to the point: The school I am now talking about is just about to become and old school. When I got in the car after school, my Dad just said "You are moving to the secondary on Monday. I spoke with the headmasters. It's all arranged."
I didn't know what to say! I'm just after skyping an old friend, and she thought it was good and that I would make some friends. I hope she's right!

So right now instead of studying to get back up to the level of school I should be at, I'm writing a post. I couldn't concentrate until I'd done this!

What shouldI do? I've missed more than half the school year. I'm not really sure if I'll be OK, I mean I've forgotten a lot of stuff. Have any of you guys had to suddenly change to a new school, months after th start of the school year? Do any of you know what I should do?

Here's today's quote:

Sorry for such a negative post, I should be back to myself soon.

Ginger and Chocolate Biscuits

Hi guys! This is a really nice recipe, which I found in a cookbook in my kitchen (a really old one without a publisher written on it!) and I came across a recipe for 'biscuits'. They could have came up with something more original! Anyway, I tried that recipe but the biscuits were very plain and boring, so I decided to spice it up a little (I actually used spices) ;) Here is the recipe I use (which is half from the book and half from me!) Makes about 18 biscuits (it depends on the cookie cutter you use, really) For the biscuits: 350g plain flour 3 teaspoons of ground ginger, or 4 teaspoons if you're a ginger lover! 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda 100g butter 175g soft light brown sugar 1 egg 4 tablespoons of golden syrup For the chocolate icing (don't really know what to call it!): 165g milk/dark chocolate (whichever you prefer) Handful of sprinkles Heat your oven to 180C, 350F gas mark 4. Storage:Keep in an airtight container and eat within six d...

Stuff To Do On a Rainy Day

Hi!  I hope you all liked my short story, and if you haven't seen it yet, check it out. So it's really rainy outside, so I thought I'd make a list (long term readers, you get me by now) of things you can do on rainy days. But first, here's a little picture of what the weather was like yesterday, just to show you how annoying the weather is: Argh! How irritating! Here's the list: A short list of things to do on a rainy day Find a board game Even though they have gone a bit out of fashion, they are still fun at desperate times, like on rainy days. Start writing a story All you need is some characters, something you are interested in, an unexpecting twist and an imagination for this on a rainy day. Bake a cake This can be really fun on a dull day, and a piece of cake can really help. You don’t have to bake a cake, you can make anything with the ingredients you have. Clean your room This doesn’t sound fun. But i...

How to talk to someone (without them dying of boredom)

Hello! I'm back. It's been eleven days since my last post. How was your Christmas? Did you have a brilliant New Year? So you may have noticed the extremely weird and long title? You probably did. You know when you are having a conversation and then you both don't know what to say and there's a long, akward silence where you stand there for ages and then end up saying "So..." on repeat? This list of non-small talk questions will make your talking life much more interesting. Obviously you should always start with introducing yourself, ask them the usual questions and once you get to know them better, ask them some of these random questions: If you were an instrument, which one would you be, and why? If you could bring a fictional character to life who would it be, and why? If you were an animal what would you be, where would you live, and why? If you weren't human, what living thing would you be, and why? If you were an item of clothing, what wo...
