Ginger and Chocolate Biscuits

Hi guys! This is a really nice recipe, which I found in a cookbook in my kitchen (a really old one without a publisher written on it!) and I came across a recipe for 'biscuits'. They could have came up with something more original! Anyway, I tried that recipe but the biscuits were very plain and boring, so I decided to spice it up a little (I actually used spices) ;) Here is the recipe I use (which is half from the book and half from me!) Makes about 18 biscuits (it depends on the cookie cutter you use, really) For the biscuits: 350g plain flour 3 teaspoons of ground ginger, or 4 teaspoons if you're a ginger lover! 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda 100g butter 175g soft light brown sugar 1 egg 4 tablespoons of golden syrup For the chocolate icing (don't really know what to call it!): 165g milk/dark chocolate (whichever you prefer) Handful of sprinkles Heat your oven to 180C, 350F gas mark 4. Storage:Keep in an airtight container and eat within six d...

Candles and Comfort Food...

Hi guys! First of all, I hope you like the new layout of my blog, I thought it needed a little bit of change. Let me know in the comments!  So I have been using candles a LOT recently (Thanks for inspiring me, Zoe!), so I decided why not do a mini photoshoot with my favourite one, the DunnesHome Honeysuckle and Primrose fragranced candle (It's not lit here because it was SO windy outside, I brought it out and it blew out straight away). I love it because its smell is so comforting and sweet, it brings the room its in to life. Also, it has a copper lid, and I am LOVING copper right now. I'm sorry it's not like a fancy candle or anything, I'm on a budget guys! It is great value for €4. There are also some nice candles in stock in Primark too, so go and check them out.  Doughnuts. Donuts. Whatever you call them, they are just amazing. My mum went to the Mainland today, and brought back a load of them, so why not use one for my blog? Doughnuts/donuts are all goo...

The Best Easter Bakes

Hi guys! Before we get along with the post, it's been a while since I last blogged. I can't think of anything to write, so I've just been thinking of ideas. Also, you'll have a new short story coming very soon. It's the Easter Holidays, so I'm going to write a few more posts than usual, and I am also working on a  story (as I already said, silly me!), so I don't have as much time to blog. THE BEST EASTER RECIPES ALL IN ONE PLACE! 1. These are by far my favourite Easter bakes, and how couldn't they be, they are by frickin' Zoella! They are so cute! Click  Here  for the blog post, and Here  for the video. Enjoy! 2. You can't go wrong with a good BBC Good Food recipe, that's like my go-to place for baking and cooking.  Hi Guys! Sorry for anyone who reads my posts regularily, I was very busy in the offline world. (It's a disease: it's called 'notbotheredtofindmychrarger-itis') Anyway, this is just to let you know I'm still alive. Here is the stuff I am so excited about this month, in 'My Monthly Favourites' MY MONTHLY FAVOURITES Right now I mostly think of books, and read and bake and watch YouTube videos. Update

Just to let any of you know, this is not a post! It's just a small notification. I said I would do a post about the books I like very soon and I will do it as soon as I read "I am Pusheen the Cat". I ordered it and am waiting for it to arrive! Next, I think it would be a good idea for me and some bloggers I know, to do a book review. Just choose a book, give some info about it and say what you think. It would be very interesting! I have finally found some other bloggers! Just a shoutout to Dreamer and Chatterbox (I'll leave a link to Dreamer's website at the end) because they are both really supportive. And Chatterbox, good luck with your training for the splits! I'm sure you'll get them soon. That's it for the update ! Here is Dreamer's website: THOUGHTS OF A DREAMER As I said, this is not a post so there is no quote.  Meain Girl- going back to real life xxx

What have I done today? #1

Hi! So I have decided to start a series of blog posts called "What have I done today?" where I make a list (OK, you get it now!) of what I have done so far today. This morning, I did a little series of what books my younger brothers like. So that was this morning when I woke up. Turns out Tom Gates and Radio Boy are my eight-year-old brother's favourites, and my four-year-old brother likes any Dr Seuss books. After that, as seen as today is also rainy day, I did some baking. (Read the post 'stuff to do on a rainy day' for more info) Here is the recipe I used: Banana yogurt muffins I also added chocolate chips, and that made them ten times nicer. They may not look the nicest, (I wasn't tempted by looking at them) but once you bite into them they taste amazing. Then as I was browsing through my stuff, I came accross my instant camera and thought, I need to get more of the stuff the pictures print out on. Here is the one I use: You may not...
