My Monthly Favourites 2

Hi guys! So it's been a while, but there's nothing I can do about it! I'm on summer holidays now, so I'll be posting more often. Also, I'm gonna start working on a schedule for the blog, cus at the moment it's a bit all over the place!

Anyway, I have to go to the shop with my mum to post something soon (Yes, this island is so small that there is only one shop, and it is also the post office xD)
So, here we go!

The start of my new story!!

Hi guys! It's been quite a while since my last post, I'm sorry, I have tests for the next few weeks and I have to revise a lot. There will be a blog post on how to be organised coming soon, with some tips and stationery essentials.
Anyway, my mum told me it would be a good idea to start writing a book, and of course I didn't say no. She said if it was good enough, we could send it to a few publishers! I love writing stories, and if I'm not reading, or watching Disney Films, or on YouTube, you'll find me staring into space trying to think of a name for a city, in a kaleidoscope. This is the first part of my new story, which I haven't decided a name for yet. Let me know what you think in the comments, it means a lot to me when someone comments!
Here it is!

You’d think living in such a colourful, bright place is fun, but it isn’t. What happens when it gets dark? What happens when the world gets completely changed? My name is Storm. I was born during a st…

World Book Night!

Hi guys!

HAPPY WORLD BOOK NIGHT!

I'm not sure if I'm right, but I know WBD (World Book Day) was on the third of March. According to the WBD website , today is World Book Night. I think this event is more for people in their teens, so I decided to celebrate this one instead of WBD, which is more for younger people.

Anyways, I don't know what I'm meant to do for WBN, so I'm just gonna do a list of books that changed my reading life. (These books include books I read when I was much smaller than I am now) This doesn't contain any spoilers.

BOOKS THAT CHANGED MY LIFE (AND YOU MUST READ THEM)

Girl Online Series by Zoe Sugg This book is a book that inspired me to do two of my favourite things, blog and take pictures. I don't know who I'd be if I hadn't found the first book at my old Book Swappers club two years ago! AND it was written by my favourite YouTuber!
The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins I know every teen loves this book, but you know, it's re…

Check out this website!

Hello!

First of all, I hope all had a great Easter, and if you don't celebrate it, I hope you had a great weekend.
I ate SOO much chocolate!

Anyway, I spend so much time on this website(you'll find it a in a minute), you wouldn't believe I even stop to eat!
On this website, you'll find:
Stories written by aspiring writersQuizzesI love that it is written by aspiring writers, because it goes to show that if you want to write a story and share it with other people, you can! I read one story on it, a while back, and it was amazing. It was called 'Differences'. It is a realistic story based on a girl called Destiny, and it is FULL of emotions. It is written by someone called 'avid novelist' and it is amazing. You HAVE to read it. (That is an order)

Anyway, you are probably itching to find out what the website is, this is it : Quotev
And if you thought that what was above is all that's there, there's one more thing. YOU CAN SHARE YOUR OWN STORIES ON IT!! I m…

Zoella outfits in cartoon!!

Hi guys! So I may not be a great drawer, but I managed to draw these pictures of Zoella, and I'm pretty proud of them. I really enjoyed drawing them, and picking which outfits for her to be wearing. I'm sorry that the pics don't look like her, but it's hard to transform someone into cartoon! And these were only five-minute sketches. I actually used her Instagram pictures for the outfits, so these are all outfits she owns and wears. Let me know if you'd like to see more of these little cartoons in the comments!

Ginger and Chocolate Biscuits

Hi guys!
This is a really nice recipe, which I found in a cookbook in my kitchen (a really old one without a publisher written on it!) and I came across a recipe for 'biscuits'. They could have came up with something more original! Anyway, I tried that recipe but the biscuits were very plain and boring, so I decided to spice it up a little (I actually used spices) ;)

Here is the recipe I use (which is half from the book and half from me!)

Makes about 18 biscuits (it depends on the cookie cutter you use, really)

For the biscuits:
350g plain flour
3 teaspoons of ground ginger, or 4 teaspoons if you're a ginger lover!
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
100g butter
175g soft light brown sugar
1 egg
4 tablespoons of golden syrup

For the chocolate icing (don't really know what to call it!):
165g milk/dark chocolate (whichever you prefer)
Handful of sprinkles

Heat your oven to 180C, 350F gas mark 4.
Storage:Keep in an airtight container and eat within six days.

1. Dip a paper towel in some m…

Candles and Comfort Food...

Hi guys!
First of all, I hope you like the new layout of my blog, I thought it needed a little bit of change. Let me know in the comments!

So I have been using candles a LOT recently (Thanks for inspiring me, Zoe!), so I decided why not do a mini photoshoot with my favourite one, the DunnesHome Honeysuckle and Primrose fragranced candle (It's not lit here because it was SO windy outside, I brought it out and it blew out straight away). I love it because its smell is so comforting and sweet, it brings the room its in to life. Also, it has a copper lid, and I am LOVING copper right now. I'm sorry it's not like a fancy candle or anything, I'm on a budget guys! It is great value for €4. There are also some nice candles in stock in Primark too, so go and check them out.

Doughnuts. Donuts. Whatever you call them, they are just amazing. My mum went to the Mainland today, and brought back a load of them, so why not use one for my blog? Doughnuts/donuts are all good, chocolatey …

The Best Easter Bakes

Hi guys!
Before we get along with the post, it's been a while since I last blogged. I can't think of anything to write, so I've just been thinking of ideas. Also, you'll have a new short story coming very soon.

It's the Easter Holidays, so I'm going to write a few more posts than usual, and I am also working on a  story (as I already said, silly me!), so I don't have as much time to blog.

THE BEST EASTER RECIPES ALL IN ONE PLACE!

1. These are by far my favourite Easter bakes, and how couldn't they be, they are by frickin' Zoella! They are so cute! Click Here for the blog post, and Here for the video. Enjoy!
2. You can't go wrong with a good BBC Good Food recipe, that's like my go-to place for baking and cooking. I'd never heard of chocolate bark before this, but I'm definitely going to try! Click Here for the recipe.

My Monthly Favourites

Hi Guys! Sorry for anyone who reads my posts regularily, I was very busy in the offline world. (It's a disease: it's called 'notbotheredtofindmychrarger-itis')
Anyway, this is just to let you know I'm still alive.
Here is the stuff I am so excited about this month, in 'My Monthly Favourites'

MY MONTHLY FAVOURITES

Right now I mostly think of books, and read and bake and watch YouTube videos. I finished reading this a few weeks ago, it was really good! Expect to find a book review here on it some time soon, along with anothe few books! (I really need to do that post!)
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

It's amazing! Are Rainbow Rowell's other books good? (I suppose they are, after reading this book!)

Ed Sheeran's new album, 'Divide'

I listened to his whole album in one night, the night they came out. Comment below which one is your favourite!

Beauty and the Beast

Update

Just to let any of you know, this is not a post! It's just a small notification. I said I would do a post about the books I like very soon and I will do it as soon as I read "I am Pusheen the Cat". I ordered it and am waiting for it to arrive!
Next, I think it would be a good idea for me and some bloggers I know, to do a book review. Just choose a book, give some info about it and say what you think. It would be very interesting!
I have finally found some other bloggers! Just a shoutout to Dreamer and Chatterbox (I'll leave a link to Dreamer's website at the end) because they are both really supportive. And Chatterbox, good luck with your training for the splits! I'm sure you'll get them soon.

That's it for the update !

Here is Dreamer's website:THOUGHTS OF A DREAMER

As I said, this is not a post so there is no quote.

What have I done today? #1

Hi! So I have decided to start a series of blog posts called "What have I done today?" where I make a list (OK, you get it now!) of what I have done so far today.

This morning, I did a little series of what books my younger brothers like.

So that was this morning when I woke up. Turns out Tom Gates and Radio Boy are my eight-year-old brother's favourites, and my four-year-old brother likes any Dr Seuss books.

After that, as seen as today is also rainy day, I did some baking. (Read the post 'stuff to do on a rainy day' for more info) Here is the recipe I used: Banana yogurt muffins

I also added chocolate chips, and that made them ten times nicer. They may not look the nicest, (I wasn't tempted by looking at them) but once you bite into them they taste amazing.

Then as I was browsing through my stuff, I came accross my instant camera and thought, I need to get more of the stuff the pictures print out on. Here is the one I use:
You may notice the books in the backgr…

Stuff To Do On a Rainy Day

Hi!
I hope you all liked my short story, and if you haven't seen it yet, check it out. So it's really rainy outside, so I thought I'd make a list (long term readers, you get me by now) of things you can do on rainy days. But first, here's a little picture of what the weather was like yesterday, just to show you how annoying the weather is:

Argh! How irritating! Here's the list:
A short list of things to do on a rainy day
Find a board game Even though they have gone a bit out of fashion, they are still fun at desperate times, like on rainy days. Start writing a story All you need is some characters, something you are interested in, an unexpecting twist and an imagination for this on a rainy day. Bake a cake This can be really fun on a dull day, and a piece of cake can really help. You don’t have to bake a cake, you can make anything with the ingredients you have. Clean your room This doesn’t sound fun. But if you turn up the sixties music, and dance along with your broom.…
